I like paranormal, thriller, mystery, drama, human interest, intrigue etc. Let's face it most books. I do not read most science fiction but do make exceptions. I never read erotica, or extreme gore/ and language. I can only read one to two books weekly and review when writing myself. This book is refreshing and reminiscent of Agatha Christie's ladies of the manor. Lady Elizabeth is cash poor due to the raging World War II and her deceased husband's debts but she has to keep up appearances and not let the villagers who rely on her know.So she donates a half-acre of her land so the villagers can grow food to aid them in their diets and the food rationing that is going on. When a villager is murdered in said garden Lady Elizabeth fills the need to get to the bottom of it and protect her people. I truly enjoyed the progression in this novel to the murderers identity.A great story with humourous interesting people.
