Review -Curse of the Spellmans

Curse of the Spellman’s by Lisa Lutz
Curse of the Spellmans (Izzy Spellman Mysteries)
Available at Amazon in hard cover and on kindle

Isabel “Izzy” Spellman is forced to move home, when her beer guzzling ,smoking roommate moves back in after a break-up with his girlfriend. Her parents run a Private Investigation agency which they expect Izzy to help with. Izzy becomes interested in the neighbour next door John Brown. At first it seems to be a good relationship for Izzy that is until she falls into “the curse of the Spellman’s” becoming suspicious of him and starts investigating him. Izzy is bound and determined she is going to prove that he has being making women disappear. She begins to follow him everywhere. When she breaks into his home she is caught and her PI licence is in jeopardy. After all this is her fourth arrest. Rae has nowhere to go as she is barred from the family home in a plea deal.
Rae her fifteen year old has met a cop she has befriended Henry Stone. Henry helps ground Izzy getting her to do her homework and treat her parents with respect. The problem is a social worker gets wind of Rae hanging out so much with a forty year old man and she questions the Spellman’s parenting so Izzy poses as Henry’s fiancée.
If all of this isn’t enough someone is duplicating Izzy’s childhood crimes to the last detail and Izzy’s victim hires the Spellman’s to find out who is doing this and her brother David the only normal one is acting odd.
This book is a fun romp with the Spellmans. I laughed repeatedly while reading about the antics of Izzy and her family. This book is an enjoyable captivating read you won't be able to put down.
