Book Review -Mom’s On the Roof And I Can't Get Her Down

Book Review -Mom’s On the Roof And I Can't Get Her Down
By Cynthia Myers-Hanson
Cover for 'Mom's on the Roof'

Mom’s on the Roof is told with the writer’s wry sense of humour and faith. It is a story of a daughter’s love for her parents, as she navigates her mother’s illness and then cares for her in her dying days. When she thinks all is done more comes to task her strength and faith. The writer gives the reader and insight into the pain and the fear one goes through in such troubled times. Having gone through losing both my parents to cancer this book brought back those feelings of fear and the grief but also remembered joys and last shared moments. The writer’s revelations of death bed disclosures give the reader a feeling that life goes on beyond death. A truly heartwarming story of faith, love and finding your inner strength, in the face of pain, tragedy, cancer and death that will make the reader cry but in the end, smile. A must read for anyone who has lost someone close to them.
